When our father was dying after having his second leg amputated, Dr. Jefferson visited him and wanted to know why he wasn't on an air mattress and have lamb wool under him. He passed away from the complications of a bed sore not the amputation.
It took Mildred to call to the nursing staff how to care for John Ferguson with compassion.
