As you'll see in the article from Politico, this very fine bill, which should have the support of all, contains Hyde language prohibiting funds to pay for abortions. The Democrats are outraged! Personally, I plan to call Senators Warren and Markey right away, ask their aides how each of them is going to vote, and then be shocked, shocked by the answer. If they do vote for the bill, they will be voting for the abortion-funding ban - they can't win.
The other delicious bit is that the they did not know the language was in the bill because they did not read the bill!
The situation of these poor victims is dreadful and needful of redress. The situation in which the Democratic senators find themselves is hilarious. Anne
