"Health Care Support Rising" You can fix that!

I have been hearing from people who are concerned that the health care furor seems to have quieted somewhat. A poll released today (which, as you probably heard and saw, received wide coverage) might indicate that this is true.
A Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that support for a government-run health-care plan to compete with private insurers has rebounded from its summertime lows and wins clear majority support from the public.
Sizable majorities back two key and controversial provisions: both the so-called public option and a new mandate that would require all Americans to carry health insurance. Independents and senior citizens, two groups crucial to the debate, have warmed to the idea of a public option, and are particularly supportive if it would be administered by the states and limited to those without access to affordable private coverage.
But in a sign of the fragile coalition politics that influence the negotiations in Congress, Obama's approval ratings on health-care reform are slipping among his fellow Democrats even as they are solidifying among independents and seniors. Among Democrats, strong approval of his handling of the issue has dropped 15 percentage points since mid-September. At first it seems hard to believe this poll, but it is a wake-up call for us!
Our MCFL web site has a dedicated page with scores of articles on abortion, rationing, and denial of care. Please choose one that you like, print it out and FAX or mail it to your Congressman. Even if you can only email the article (the whole article, not just the link) that would be a help. We keep adding pertinent articles. If you keep sending them, the weakness among Democrats will increase. It may seem tedious to keep contacting our elected officials and sending them articles. This is about life and death so please keep up the good work!
Thank you,
Anne Fox, President
