Boston, Dec. 8, 2010  Massachusetts Citizens for Life today deplored the decision by Judge Gary Nickerson to release abortion practitioner Rapin Osathanondh after less than three months in prison.

Osathanondh, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, had faced a maximum of 20 years in prison.  The 68 year old abortionist received only six months in jail and three years probation and will not be able to practice or teach medicine.

Laura's mother, Eileen, spoke for her family, "Rapin Osathanondh was granted a 'revise and revoke' motion on his sentence today by the same Judge who originally gave him the light sentence. Once again the man who killed my daughter receives mercy while our daughter and family receive none."

She continued, "Even though the Parole Board recently denied his parole because they said he was NOT remorseful for what he did, and he was the most 'arrogant and callous person to ever ask for parole in their experience serving on the parole board', the Judge disregarded their comments and decision and granted him freedom to go home. Where is my daughter's freedom to go home, Judge?"

MCFL President, Anne Fox states, "This is an outrage.  The total disregard for the lives of unborn babies has led to disregard for the lives of their mothers.  A society that accommodates abortion swiftly accommodates the taking of other lives."
