Press Release: Respect Life Walk to Aid Mothers and Children

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 6, 2013    Contact: John Triolo 617-242-4199 Charlestown, MA - Massachusetts Citizens for Life today announced the return of its Respect Life Walk to Aid Mothers and Children.  The event, which used to take place in October, is now scheduled to take place at 2PM on April 28th.  The site of the Walk has also moved from Boston Common to the DCR Castle Island Park on the shore of Boston Harbor, which features walking trails and historic Fort Independence. According to Helen Cross chair of the organizing committee the focus on this year's Walk is to bring out record levels of families and young people.  "This is a great way for moms, dads and kids to come out and have great time showing their support for the pro-life cause and charities supporting pro-life services," said Mrs. Cross. "When someone registers, donates or participates and encourages their family, friends and neighbors to participate or sponsor their efforts, they are doing life-saving work." The Respect Life Walk to Aid Mothers and Children donates a large portion of the funds raised by Walkers to charities across Massachusetts raise the money they need to continue and expand their operations. "The Walk is one of the only major funding sources some of these groups get all year," said Mrs. Cross, "We need to make sure that this event is a success so that they have the funds needed to continue serving women and children." Currently the Walk supports organizations which provide pregnancy support, food aid to expectant mothers, medical assistance, counseling, and educational assistance.  There are over 40 charities which receive financial help from the Walk.
