One of the biggest defenders of Parental rights, the traditional family and protecting our children from the onslaught of the transgender/homosexual lobby is MassResistance.  They are active against the "Bathroom Bill" on Beacon Hill, which allows men (perverts?) to use public Women's bathrooms if they "idnetify" themselves as a woman.  Please consider a donation to this hard working and faithful group.  https://www.massresistance.us/cc_donations.html
MassResistance has exposed the homosexual lobby's perverse agenda, including the latest assault on teen sensibilities at Concord/Carlye High School, where homosexual activist teacher Peter Atlas is directing the play called "The Falsettos", about a family where the father leaves his wife and children to live with his homosexual lover. The family deals with the husband's flagrant sexual relationship with the other man, as well as their lesbian neighbors, along with a heavy doses of profanity and general perversion. The "musical's" songs include such gems as "My Father's a Homo" and "Four Jews in a Room Bitching."

"Because we honor justice and the common good, we will not comply with any edict that purports to compel our institutions to participate in abortions, embryo-destructive research, assisted suicide and euthanasia, or any other anti-life act; nor will we bend to any rule purporting to force us to bless immoral sexual partnerships, treat them as marriages or the equivalent, or refrain from proclaiming the truth, as we know it, about morality and immorality and marriage and the family. Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS? Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.  As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, CHRISTIAN card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world..
Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it, just don't be rude or crude. (It's not the Christian way, you know.)

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone. Also tell them that there is no such thing as a " Holiday Tree". . . It's always been called a CHRISTMAS TREE!

Exciting Announcements!

logo
PROFESSOR ANTHONY ESOLEN:  We are so pleased to share with you
the wonderful presentation that Prof. Esolen gave at the Mass.Citizens Dinner.

We also have other exciting news!

ASSEMBLY FOR LIFE, JANUARY 24: You may remember the picture of "Baby Samuel", the little fellow who was operated on in utero and reached out during the operation to clasp the surgeon's finger.  If not,
you may have seen it circulating recently on line.

Next week (Dec 2, 2009), Samuel will be ten years old.  He is a healthy, pro-life advocate.
Recently he told Fox News  "It's very important to me," Samuel said of the photograph. "A lot of babies would've lost their lives if that didn't happen."  Samuel's operation changed his life and must have saved many other lives.

What you probably don't know is that the picture completely changed the life of photographer, Michael Clancy.  It caused him to be black-listed in the media and to find God in his life
We are thrilled to announce that Michael has agreed to speak at the Mass. Citizens Assembly for Life on January 24, 2010!
MARCH FOR LIFE:  We have ordered your "MCFL Blue" knitted cap and look forward to seeing you in Washington.  Massachusetts will caucus in the large hall in the Dirksen Building that we used last year, kindly reserved by Sen. Kirk's staff.

WE ARE EMBARKING ON A NEW PROJECT.  We especially need people with computer skills, but everyone can help.  If you can give some time to save life, please reply to this email or call MCFL at 617-242-4199.  Thank you!

YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE MONEY TO MASS. CITIZENS WITHOUT IT COSTING YOU A DIME!

Senator Reid's tenuous win today. Three quarters of people disagree with his abortion provisions!

logo
This afternoon, the Senate voted to allow debate on Senator Reid's health care bill. We are indebted to Life News for their analysis of the proceedings.

The bill actually taxes families for the medical care of their special needs children! We will be analyzing this diabolical provision of the bill in later emails.

Of special note to us in Massachusetts is the fact that Senator Kirk's office is saying there is a conscience clause in the bill. It is in the abortion section, so, at most, it would allow doctors to refuse to commit abortions. It makes no attempt to protect the conscience rights of doctors in other situations, the conscience rights of taxpayers, patients and family members.

It is time to send a polite note to Senator Kirk at his home expressing your deep concern about abortion, rationing, denial of care, or denial of conscience rights for doctors, patients, and taxpayers.

The Honorable Paul Kirk
62 Sawmill road
Marstons Mills, MA. 02648

If you would like further information, please visit the Mass. Citizens Health Care Page.
Do not be discouraged! It is early days. We are just getting started!

Thank you for the calls you made to Senator Kirk on Thursday and Friday and for writing to him this week!

Anne Fox, President Mass. Citizens for Life

PS. I urge you to forward this email to everyone you know who is concerned!

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- With the bare minimum needed, Senate Democrats voted on Saturday night to begin the official debate and amendment process for a health care reform bill that allows for massive abortion funding. The measure sponsored by Senate leader Harry Reid could fund hundreds of thousands of abortions.

The vote split entirely on party lines with 60 Democrats voting to break the Republican filibuster supported by 39 party members in the Senate.

Several Democrats who may ultimately vote against the bill supported cloture to end debate on the Motion to Proceed.

They included Sens. Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, the only Democrats in the Senate who call themselves pro-life and pro-abortion Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota, who joins then in wanting a Stupak-like amendment to ban the abortion funding.

Democrats in swing states, like Arkansas' Blanche Lincoln and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, and independent Sen. Joe Lieberman -- each of whom could ultimately vote against the bill -- also supported cloture and the Motion to Proceed on debate. They said they hope to see the bill amended to correct some of their concerns.

But Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said the best opportunity to change the bill is to defeat it.

"The best opportunity to change the bill would be at the beginning," he said. "Denying the majority leader the vote he needs to start the bill would have empowered any Democratic senator who is truly interested in making a change, whether the change was on abortion [or other issues] ... The time of maximum leverage would have been prior to tonight's vote."

The abortion funding comes in both the public option as well as through the affordability credits.

Senator Reid's bill provides for an unprecedented expansion of federally-funded abortion. The majority of Americans who oppose federal funding of abortion will not stand for policies that force them into paying for abortions under the guise of health care reform.

The bill contains five major threats to pro-life principles.

The bill allows the HHS Secretary to require coverage of any and all abortions through the public option, creates new federally-funded subsidies for private health plans that cover abortion, and requires every insurance market to include a private plan that covers abortion.

The Senate health care bill also fails to sufficiently protect health care entities from discrimination on the basis that the health care entity does not provide, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for abortions and fails to prohibit federal funding of assisted suicide.

The Senate bill does not contain the Stupak amendment that the House added on a lopsided bipartisan vote. The Reid language in the new Senate health care bill is not the Stupak-Pitts language barring federal funds from going to abortion in health care.

Representative of the Catholic bishops, Richard Doerflinger, has blasted the pro-abortion provisions in the bill, saying the Senate bill "is actually the worst bill we've seen so far on the life issues."

Senator Orrin Hatch, (R, Utah), has said he would propose an amendmentsimilar to the Stupak amendment to remove the abortion funding from the legislation.

URGE KIRK AND KERRY TO FOLLOW KENNEDY'S WISHES! CALL TODAY! SENATE VOTE SATURDAY!

logo
As well as abortion (see below), we know the senate bill mandates rationing, denial of care, and violation of conscience rights for doctors and patients. According to the Globe, the vote will be Saturday.

Senators Kerry and Kirk probably won't be moved by abortion coverage. They should, however, pay attention to these words from Senator Kennedy's letter to the Pope,
"I believe in a conscience protection for Catholics in the health field and I'll
continue to advocate for it as my colleagues in the Senate and I work to develop
an overall national health policy that guarantee health care for everyone."

Call Senators Kirk, 202-224-4543 and Kerry, 202-224-2742, today. Tell them to follow Senator Kennedy's wishes by opposing any bill which does not specifically guarantee conscience rights.

Make your call top priority today!
Thank you,
Anne Fox, President

PS. Remember Senator Kirk was appointed specifically to carry out Senator Kennedy's wishes on health care.

PPS. Following is good analysis of Reid's duplicity on abortion by National Right to Life.
National Right to Life Committee Rejects Reid Abortion Funding Language as "Completely Unacceptable," Calls for Enactment of Stupak-Pitts Amendment.

WASHINGTON (November 18, 2009) -- The following statement was issued by the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the federation of right-to-life organizations in all 50 states, and may be attributed to NRLC Legislative Director Douglas Johnson.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nv.) has rejected the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts Amendment and has substituted completely unacceptable language that would result in coverage of abortion on demand in two big new federal government programs.

Reid seeks to cover elective abortions in two big new federal health programs, but tries to conceal that unpopular reality with layers of contrived definitions and hollow bookkeeping requirements.

Rep. Lois Capps (D-Ca.), who has a 100% pro-abortion voting record, said in a press release following release of the Reid language: "It appears that their approach closely mirrors my language which was originally included in the House bill." The Capps language referred to was opposed by NRLC and other pro-life organizations and was deleted by the House by a vote of 240-194 on November 7, as 64 Democrats (one fourth of all House Democrats), along with 176 Republicans, voted to replace it with the Stupak-Pitts Amendment.

The Stupak-Pitts Amendment would prevent federal subsidies for abortion by applying the principles of longstanding federal laws such as the Hyde Amendment to the new programs created by the health care legislation. Those principles prohibit both direct funding of abortion procedures, and subsidies for plans that cover elective abortions, in existing federal programs such as Medicaid, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, and the military. Regrettably but predictably, Reid rejected the bipartisan Stupak-Pitts language. Instead, Reid has sought to please the militant minority that demands funding of abortion through federal programs, even though substantial majorities of Americans believe that abortion should be excluded from government-funded and government-sponsored health programs.

The Reid bill establishes a big new federal health insurance program, the public option (although now referred to in Reid's bill as the "community health insurance option"). The bill authorizes (on page 118) the federal Secretary of Health and Human Services to require coverage of any and all abortions throughout the public option program. This would be federal government funding of abortion, no matter how hard they try to disguise it.

In addition, the bill creates new tax-supported subsidies to purchase private health plans that will cover abortion on demand.

Obamacare provisions threaten poor and elderly: the proof

logo

Last Friday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the non-partisan, independent agency in charge of running Medicare and Medicaid released a report about the impact on poor and elderly people under Obamacare and it's House and Senate versions. It brings up practical considerations for these people which seem insurmountable. The following are from the report itself:

Millions Lose Existing Private Coverage: "
However, a number of workers who currently have employer coverage would likely become enrolled in the expanded Medicaid program or receive subsidized coverage through the Exchange. For example, some smaller employers would be inclined to terminate their existing coverage, and companies with low average salaries might find it to their - and their employees"- advantage to end their plans. We estimate that such actions would collectively reduce the number of people with employer-sponsored health coverage by about 12 million".Obamacare will cause millions of Americans to lose their existing private coverage.

Millions Pay Fines Yet Remain Uncovered: "18 million are estimated to choose not to be insured and to pay the penalty associated with the individual mandate. For the most part, these would be individuals with relatively low health care expenses for whom the individual or family insurance premium would be significantly in excess of the penalty and their anticipated health benefit value".18 million Americans will either face jail time or be forced to pay a new tax they will receive no benefit from.

Millions Lose Medicare Advantage: "Section 1161 of Division B of H.R. 3962 would set Medicare Advantage capitation benchmarks. We estimate that in 2014 when the MA provisions would be fully phased in, enrollment in MA plans would decreased by 64 percent (from its projected level of 13.2 million under current law to 4.7 million under the proposal)". 8.5 million seniors who currently get such services as coordinated care for chronic conditions, routine eye and hearing examinations, and preventive-care services would lose their existing private coverage.

Millions Placed on Welfare: "Of the additional 34 million who are estimated to be insured in 2019 as a result of H.R. 3962, about three-fifths (21 million) would receive Medicaid coverage due to the expansion of eligibility to those adults under 150 percent of the FPL."More than half the people who gain health insurance will receive it through the welfare program Medicaid.

Seniors Access to Care Jeopardized: "
H.R. 3962 would introduce permanent annual productivity adjustments to price updates for institutional providers. Over time, a sustained reduction in payment updates, based on productivity expectations that are difficult to attain, would cause Medicare payment rates to grow more slowly than and in a way that was unrelated to, the providers' costs of furnishing services to beneficiaries. Thus, providers for whom Medicare constitutes a substantive portion of their business could find it difficult to remain profitable and might end their participation in the program (possibly jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries)" Tthe Medicare cuts in the House bill are so out of touch with reality that hospitals currently serving Medicare patients might be forced to stop doing so, thus making it much more difficult for seniors to get health care.

Poor's Access Problems Exacerbated: "In practice, supply constraints might interfere with providing the services by the additional 34 million insured persons. Providers might tend to accept more patients who have private insurance (with relatively attractive payment rates) and fewer Medicaid patients, exacerbating existing access problems for the latter group." Those 21 million people who are gaining health insurance through Medicaid are going to have a very tough time finding a doctor who will treat them.

We are grateful to the Heritage Foundation for calling attention to this report.

Worcester update: Now on Pleasant St.

Nov. 20 7PM Rosary and short Bible Study at my house in Holden.  774-263-6969.  Bible study addresses the question, did God tell the Isrealites to kill all of their enemies, including women and children?

On Saturday Nov 14 Planned Parenthood moved into their new building on Pleasant St.  We had about ten people show up to pray the rosary and give witness.  Buffer zones are clearly marked on the sidewalks, but we could use more people as cars enter around the corner on Dewey St. for the back parking lot while we can be visible to people walking into the abortion mill from the front on Pleasant.St.

Scholastic Books has decided to include the pro-homosexual book for 9-12 year-olds, Luv Ya Bunches, in its middle school book fairs. This troubling book is already in the Scholastic Book Club catalogue, which is distributed to elementary school children. send emails to Scholastic Books management to inform them that as long as they are carrying books that affirm homosexuality as moral, you will not purchase books from them:

re: "Luv Ya Bunches" not for kids
In light of Scholastic Books decision to include the homosexuality-affirming book Luv Ya Bunches in its catalog and in its middle school book fair, I'm recommending all parents and colleagues to avoid Scholastic.

Couldn't your company at least have remained neutral in this culture war?  This type of propaganda can't help but be confusing to kids, just more of the sexualization of our little ones.  In my state the Dept. of Education came out with the statistics that the pregnancy rate for gay, lesbian and bi-sexual teenagers is higher that the pregnancy rate for heterosexual teenagers!  Think about that, please.

As long as Scholastic Books chooses to sell and promote books that contain offensive content that we believe harms individuals, undermines the natural family, and corrupts society, we will purchase books for our children elsewhere.

Sincerely,

AMERICA MAGAZINE SLURS MCFL and entire right to life movement!

logo

In the latest edition, America Magazine claims pro-lifers care only about the money in the health care bills, not the people, which makes us tools of the Republican party, as are all right to lifers.  The basis was an MCFL email of August 7, 2009 which was partly quoted and the rest "interpreted".  MCFL takes umbrage on behalf of the entire right to life community.
America has promised to print the following Letter to the Editor:

November 10, 2009

 Letter to the Editor, America

I know it is standard for certain kinds of journalism to take statements out of context in order to misrepresent what has been said.  I had thought America was above such tactics until I read your November 2, 2009 article, "An Illusory Peace".  The author, William Bole, quotes from an email, which I sent to the members of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, to try to claim that Mass. Citizens is "more conservative than social".  By extension, he implies, the entire pro-life movement is such.  Mass. Citizens is typical of right to life organizations across the country: non-partisan, non-sectarian, and neither liberal nor conservative.

I could counter by stating the fact that the majority of the members of Mass. Citizens are Democrats who are classical liberals on non-social issues.  I will counter by looking at the August 7, 2009 email (which can be viewed at http://blog.masscitizensforlife.org/2009/11/how-you-and-i-will-stop-obamacare.html ).  Directly above Mr. Bole's quote the email says,

"What do pro-lifers think of when we think of Obamacare?

abortion, euthanasia, denial of care, death counseling, rationing, no choice of insurance or provider, life and death decisions made by some czar, no conscience rights for doctors or patients

Is it possible to correct these things?  Some pro life congressmen tried to put in wording saying abortion would not be involved - wording was voted down!  If euthanasia were removed, there would be nothing left of the plan."

The next statement is a reference to universal health insurance in Massachusetts, the prototype, which is already running out of money and is, therefore, planning rationing - reported extensively in the NY Times and other media just prior to the Aug 7 email.  Mr. Boles obviously reads MCFL emails.  He is aware, then, that this is the only time during five months of intensive emailing that I mentioned finances.

Mr. Bole's economic component is, in fact, a social component, not a conservative component.  If you spend all your money, you will have to ration care to patients and deny them treatment.

Massachusetts Citizens for Life has run hundreds of radio and newspaper ads all warning that the various federal proposals contain abortion, rationing, and denial of care based on age or disability.

We invite America to share our concern about abortion, euthanasia, denial of care, and especially about denial of conscience rights for doctors and patients.

Sincerely,

Anne Fox

President, Massachusetts Citizens for Life

WBZ Refuses Massachusetts Citizens for Life Health Care Ads

logo
Statement by Anne Fox, President, Massachusetts Citizens for Life, November 10, 2009

"Radio station WBZ, Boston's NBC affiliate, has refused to sell time to Massachusetts Citizens for Life to air ads on the health care plans.  When asked to put their reasons in writing, the station declined.

"These ads and similar ads have already aired on WRKO in Boston, WTAG in Worcester, and WHYN in Springfield.  They address abortion, rationing, and denial of care based on age or disability.

"At first WBZ told me that we had to substantiate our 'claims'.  Even as I offered to do so, they decided they would not take the ads.

"This is a news station which should be dedicated to presenting all sides of an issue - especially one of such importance to their listening audience.  The media, in general, is unquestioningly in favor of these bills,  As a premier news station WBZ should be happy to air views that may not be exactly the same as theirs.

"When they hear the ad, I am sure people will agree that is a valuable addition to the health care debate"  http://www.houndbite.com/?houndbite=17351

LYNCH AND NEAL VOTE RIGHT ON ABORTION! THANKS TO YOU!

logo

Congressmen Stephen Lynch and Richard Neal were among the 64 Democrats who voted for the Stupak Amendment to restrict abortion funding in the House version of the health care bill.

You are directly responsible!  You wrote the letters, sent the emails, the articles, and the FAXes.  Most of all, you called and called and called!!!!

Your support also made it possible for Mass. Citizens to put ads on radio stations WRKO in Boston, WTAG in Worcester, and WHYN in Springfield, as well as newspaper ads.
You will be interested to know that WBZ radio in Boston refused our ads during the last few days.  We will be letting you know more about that.

We are most grateful to Congressmen Lynch and Neal for voting against abortion funding and to you for urging them to do so!

As you know, this is another beginning, not the end.  The Senate still has to debate and vote on their version.  The vote may take place after the New Year.  If the Senate passes a bill, the two bills will go to Conference Committee and each house will have to vote again on the bill that comes out of Conference.  That gives us a lot of places to stop it.

Of course, they are hoping that we will wear down.  We have shown them once that we are vigilant and we will show them as often as necessary!

Again, thank you for this amazing feat!

Anne Fox, President

House OK's Vote on Stupak Amendment!

logo

Saturday Morning:
House approves rules for the debate on the pro-life Stupak Amendmant to remove abortion funding from the Pelosi health care bill.!
Pelosi realizes she does not have the votes to pass the bill over the objections of the pro-life Congressmen!
We need to keep up the pressure because they still have to vote on the Amendment. Many Massachusetts Congressmen have clogged phone lines and full email boxes (thanks y'all!). If you have access to a FAX that is the best. As we write this, FAXes are going through. If everything is clogged, try one of your Congressman's local numbers.
