for immediate release                     June 6, 2011                                  contact: Anne Fox, 781-449-1774

Boston, The President of Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Anne Fox, and the organization's Assistant Legislative Director, John Triolo, met with officials of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to express their objections to the material on the web site, Maria Talks, which is funded by the Department.

MCFL requested the Department to remove the web site.

Fox expressed the intent of the organization to inform the general public, especially parents, about the actual content of the site.  She said, "This material is so offensive and dangerous for children that we will use paid media, if necessary, to inform the parents of Massachusetts about the content of this predatory web site"

Primary among those concerns are the the trivialization of abortion, coaching children on how to obtain abortions without their parents' knowing, state funding ($100,000), and the raw, inappropriate language aimed at children. Fox and Triolo left with Department officials the analysis, "Why Maria Talks Must Be Taken Down", prepared by MCFL's education experts.
