U.S. House takes up Protect Life Act on Oct. 13 - act now!

logo

In spite of the rhetoric, we know O-care contains a lot of abortion coverage and funding. On Thursday, Oct 13th, the House will vote on the Protect Life Act which will correct many of the abortion problems with O-care. Since the Democrats insisted on the abortion expansion in the final bill, you may think, at forst, it is a waste to call our MA. Congressmen.

Here is what I propose:

For those of you who live in the districts of Congressmen Neal (202-225-5601) or Lynch (202-225-8273), please call and remind them that this Act is essentially the same as the Stupak Amendment which they supported. You can find more info at  http://www.nationalrighttolifenews.org/news/

For you in the other districts, here is a really simple way to leave word, knowing that your Congressman will most likely ignore your wishes, but knowing that you must do something. Go to http://www.nationalrighttolifenews.org/news/ and press "click here" at the end of the article.

It is very important for us to keep up the pressure. We are their constituents and the only ones who can save the babies. Please act on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thanks, Anne

Elizabeth Warren, favorite of Emily's List

logo

Even before she announced that she was running for the Democratic nomination against Sen. Scott Brown, Elizabeth Warren received the endorsement of Emily's List, which endorses, and bundles money for, only the most pro-abortion of women. They will touch a male candidate only if he is running against a staunch pro-life incumbent. In January of 2010 E.L .bundled at least $5,000,000 for Martha Coakley. As you would expect, Warren is top-tier pro-abortion.

At the Harvard Law School graduation last spring, the student speaker talked about his classmates knowing what is best for people and urged them to get in positions where they can regulate the lives of others - since they know best. I could just see Elizabeth Warren as the ventriloquist looming large behind him as he spoke. This is how George Will describes her.

So many people, most recently leaders of the Tea Party, are making negative noises about Senator Brown I must remind you that we all worked very for Scott because we knew he would vote against abortion funding in all areas, and against Obamacare. He has voted as he promised and also cast some excellent judicial votes.

The right-to-life vote is a real political powerhouse because we stick to our issue exclusively and are 100% loyal to our incumbents.

Be un-PC. Enjoy Columbus Day Weekend. Anne

Walk Pictures and PBA testimony

logo

We are getting such good reports back about the Walk! So many people contributed to its success - notably you who attended! I want to especially thank these people: Brother Peter from St. Benedict's Center/Immaculate Heart of Mary School, who did a lovely job leading us in prayer, David Cross, Ken Evans, Ed Nazzaro, Janet Callahan, and Andrew McLaughlin, who were the people behind the scenes, without whom nothing could happen. Ed Boylan is the official MCFL photographer. His pictures always tell the story of the event. They are posted along with others people have sent. http://masscitizensforlife.org/photo-gallery/category/5-2011-walk.html

Yesterday, pro-lifers from across the state attended Judiciary Committee hearings to testify in favor of a state Partial Birth Abortion Ban. For more than five hours we listened to testimony about bills on animal protection. People talked about morality, cruelty, judging us by how we treat animals, about giving animals a chance, etc. We thought how well they expressed our case against Partial Birth Abortion. Finally, into the evening, Marie O'Donnell was able to testify. She pointed out that, every twenty seconds in this country, we treat an unborn baby worse than these animals are treated.

It is necessary for those of you who were there and everyone else who couldn't be there to email testimony. If you want, you can reply to this email and Eva will take it to the Judiciary Committee or you can email directly to the Chair, Rep Eugene O'Flaherty, Gene.OFlaherty@mahouse.gov and ask him to share with members of the Committee. We suggest that you include the diagram and description, http://massprolife.com/attachments/article/130/PBA%20Ban--Supporting%20Materials--Diagram.pdf

You may wonder why we need a state ban since there is already a federal ban. This is the answer, "While we applaud the federal ban of partial birth abortions and the Supreme Court's restraint in upholding that law, the federal ban unfortunately is not enough to prevent the barbaric practice. Federal law is just that: federal. In order to implicate a federal criminal law, there must be some connection to federal land or property to confer jurisdiction, such as the crime taking place in a national park, across state lines, or even on the property of the United States postal service. Absent such a connection, the national law does not criminalize local actions. Each state, therefore, must pass its own partial birth abortion ban in order to protect children from this brutal death."

Your testimony is needed! Please send today or tomorrow. Thanks! Anne

Walk A Rousing Success

logo

When there are large numbers of families, young people with their friends, old faithful pro-lifers, amazing musicians, and inspiring speakers  all gathered together to help the groups who help women and children, there is a highly successful Walk to Aid Mothers and Children.  Yesterday was one of the best!

I want to thank the committee, Helen Cross, Nicholi McLaughlin, Connie and Cathleen Murphy, Elinor Rafferty, June Newman, Steve Fielding, and Ed Long and all his South Boston helpers.

Led by the master, Master of Ceremonies, Edward F. King, the speakers were wonderful!  Sincerest thanks to Cardinal Sean, Marianne Luthin, David Franks, and Sean Harrington.  And, of course, Charlie, the Walk Baby came.  He is the hit of the show where ever he goes.

Lift Ministries is an extremely talented group of young musicians.  It was such a pleasure to be welcomed by their joyful music as I came across the Common.  The singing of the students from Immaculate Heart of Mary, Still River, was delightful.

We were very fortunate to have Jane Cogliano arrange for public service announcements last week on  96.9 WTKK.

Most of all, hugest thanks to every one of you who walked or sponsored a walker.  After all, support for the helping organizations is the goal.

Yes, you say, but I want to see the pictures.  So do I and I'll send them along as soon as they are ready.

Again, thanks to everybody who made it a great day for life!  Anne
