CNN/Fortune: 5 freedoms you'd lose in health care reform

If you read the fine print in the Congressional plans, you'll find that a lot of cherished aspects of the current system would disappear.

NEW YORK (Fortune) -- In promoting his health-care agenda, President Obama has repeatedly reassured Americans that they can keep their existing health plans -- and that the benefits and access they prize will be enhanced through reform.

A close reading of the two main bills, one backed by Democrats in the House and the other issued by Sen. Edward Kennedy's Health committee, contradict the President's assurances. To be sure, it isn't easy to comb through their 2,000 pages of tortured legal language. But page by page, the bills reveal a web of restrictions, fines, and mandates that would radically change your health-care coverage.

Obama appoints advisor who wanted forced abortions and sterilizations

In a stunning appointment, Barack Obama has appointed John Holdren, a man who in 1977 co-authored a book that advocated forced abortions and forced sterilizations as a way to control so-called 'overpopulation'

Then again, it's one thing to be a bumbling soothsayer but quite another to underestimate the resourcefulness of mankind enough to ponder how "population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution," as Holdren did in "Ecoscience" in 1977. The New Republic: Obama's Supreme Court Frontrunner is inadequate

pro-abortion Barack Obama has a powerful opportunity to replace retiring pro-abortion David Souter. Souter was nominated ostensibly as a pro-life nominee who was really a 'stealth' liberal who then used his appointment to further the culture of death. Some were never fooled, however, and local author and occasional WTKK host Dan Flynn notes that Howard Phillips testified accurately at the time that Souter was pro-abortion in New Hampshire and was lying to the confirmation committee. His current speculative field, however, leaves much to be desired. Even pro-abortion publications like the New Republic are weighing in on how inadequate his current field is looking.

Bedford Minuteman: Whitewashing Health Secretary Sebelius' abortion ties

The Bedford Minuteman ran this puff piece on Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius' nomination while also linking to this advocacy website at the bottom, "Catholics for Sebelius" which is part of the Obama adminstration's efforts to outflank the pro-life movement in exposing the truth behind Sebelius. Shockingly, Sen. Sam Brownback has said he supports Sebelius despite her radically pro-abortion record.
