Please help!

logo

People are constantly telling us they want to be able to donate to MCFL on an automatic basis: monthly, quarterly, or whatever.

In looking at programs, we had two concerns.  We wanted to insure the safety and security of the program.  Our Sunday Visitor now administers Online Giving secure sites.  We am very comfortable about working with them.

Second, we didn't want you to miss any of the important news that is contained in the fund raising letters.  If you decide to give automatically I promise to send you mailings, invitations, etc. that you need to keep up with all the news that isn't in the MCFL News.

You benefit from the ease of automatic giving.

You don't need to write checks, keep track of the last time you have given, or hunt for reply envelopes. There is no need to share confidential credit card or account information - you can enter it directly into the Online Giving secure site.  You can take advantage of credit card benefits like airline mileage or cash bonuses.

Mass. Citizens benefits by having a much more user friendly web site.  We are able to plan our yearly budget and activities with more assurance.  People will be less likely to mean to give but forget.  Funds you contribute will go directly to programs rather than being eaten up by direct mail costs.

I hope you will consider this program!  Please check it out.

Thank you for all you do for life!
Anne

As former General Colin Powell observed in 1993 (before bowing to pressures of political correctness), "...it would be prejudicial to good order and discipline to try to integrate gays and lesbians in the current military structure...Skin color is a benign, nonbehavioral characteristic. Sexual orientation is perhaps the most profound of human behavioral characteristics. Comparison of the two is a convenient but invalid argument."
Prevent gays and lesbians from showering with heterosexual war fighters in our armed services.

Stop Planned Parenthood in Fitchburg, Part II

logo

The campaign to keep Planned Parenthood out of Fitchburg has caught fire and is receiving national attention. Chris Hanley, MCFL Chapter Chair asks that we all participate in the Post Card Campaign:

There is a pro-life campaign to stop Planned Parenthood from moving onto Main Street in Fitchburg, MA. One facet of the campaign is to influence the two landlords of 391 Main St. Fitchburg not to rent to Planned Parenthood. We are hoping that all of you will buy and send a postcard to each landlord's home. Two pre-stamped postcards cost 62 cents (31 cents each). Address the front with each landlord's name and address (see below). You do not need to sign or put a return address on the postcard. The message on the back of the post cards should say in large letters:

Say NO to Planned Parenthood!

Bruce Richard Christopher Kancades
168 Harris Rd. 10 Rock Brook Way
Ashburnham, MA 01430 Boxford, MA 01920

Thanks!

Planned Parenthood going forward into Fitchburg, contact landlords now

logo
Kudos to members of the Fitchburg-Leominster Chapter of Mass. Citizens for Life and the other pro-life citizens from the area around Fitchburg.
Planned Parenthood plans to use a federal grant to open facilities in Fitchburg, Milford, and Marlborough. Last Thursday 80 people protested at the proposed Fitchburg site.
On Tuesday, 40 pro-lifers attended the Fitchburg City Council meeting and many of them testified. The Council voted not to act on the resolution which asks Planned Parenthood not to come to Fitchburg.

We need you to contact the landlords who own the building.

Stupak more of a hero than we knew!

logo

Bart Stupak has taken another hit for the babies and for us.

Congress has been funding a $1 million scholarship fund at Northern Michigan University for aspiring Olympic athletes. The scholarship was renamed in 1998 for Bart Stupak's son who had committed suicide.

Yesterday, Feb 1st, President Obama unveiled his budget. He killed the B. J. Stupak scholarship for aspiring Olympians.

What is there to say?

Anne Fox

P.S. What is in the budget is massive funding for abortion and Planned Parenthood! http://www.lifenews.com/nat5952.html

The budget also denies funds for vouchers to educate poor children in DC but provides funds for abortions to kill them. http://www.lifenews.com/nat5953.html

Lila Rose to speak here and other excellent news

logo
Lila Rose will speak at "Stand Up! Speak Out! Save Lives", the MCFL Youth Conference At Boston College High School on Sunday afternoon, March 7th! Lila has made videos inside Planned Parenthood showing PP covering up statutory rape. Her most recent shows the "counselor" telling the client that her baby is a "blob of tissue" http://liveaction.org/

California, after spending three billion dollars, has discovered that embryonic stem cells do not work, so they are quietly switching to adult stem cell research, http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/printerfriendly.html?articleid=10012908

You will remember that, during hearings on proposed Supreme Court Justices, the Senate keeps questioning about stare decisis - code for "you can't overturn Roe v Wade" Well, in the recent McCain-Feingold decision, Chief Justice John Roberts made it clear that the Supreme Court over which he presides will not hesitate to sweep away its own major constitutional rulings when doing so is necessary to defend America's bedrock governing document!
http://www.newsmax.com/PrintTemplate?nodeid=68069

Prof. Michael New, whose work proves state laws that restrict abortion save lives, addressed the MCFL Caucus before the March on January 22nd. National Review has printed what he told us.
http://article.nationalreview.com/422374/the-pro-life-comeback-of-2009/michael-j-new?page=1

Prof. Mark Rienzi also addressed the caucus about the Buffer Zone appeal. The Supreme Court had ordered the Attorney General of Massachusetts to file a brief in opposition to the court taking the case. We just received word that Attorney General Coakley's opposition to the petition for a writ of certiorari will be filed with the Court today (Feb 1, 2010).

Dem Leaders Coalesce On Strategy To Salvage Obama's Health Care Overhaul

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic congressional leaders are coalescing around their last, best hope for salvaging President Barack Obama's sweeping health care overhaul.

Their plan is to pass the Senate bill with some changes to accommodate House Democrats, senior Democratic aides said Monday. Leaders will present the idea to the rank and file this week, but it's unclear whether they have enough votes to carry it out.

Last week's victory by Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts cost Democrats the 60th vote they need to maintain undisputed control of the Senate, jeopardizing the outcome of the health care bill just when Obama had brokered a final deal on most of the major issues.

The new strategy is as politically risky as it is bold. There is widespread support for Obama's goals of expanding coverage to nearly all Americans while trying to slow costs. But polls show the public is deeply skeptical of the Democratic bills, and Republicans would certainly accuse Democrats of ignoring voters' wishes.

Obama initially voiced doubts last week that a comprehensive bill was still viable, but he now seems to be pushing for it. Asked Monday if the president was backing away from his pursuit of major changes, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs responded: "No."

"I think the president believes that the circumstances that led him to undertake greater security for people in their health care ... existed last year, last week, and this week," Gibbs added.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said last week she does not have the votes to pass the Senate bill without changes. Democratic congressional aides, speaking on condition of anonymity because the issue is in flux, said the latest strategy involves using a special budget procedure to revise the Senate bill.

The procedural route -- known as reconciliation -- would allow a majority of 51 senators to amend their bill to address some of the major substantive concerns raised by the House. That would circumvent the need for a 60-vote majority to hold off Republican delaying tactics.

The remaining alternatives are unappealing: scaling back the health care bill to less controversial, smaller pieces, or setting it aside altogether.

Momentum is growing to pass the Senate bill with compromises agreed on by the president and congressional leaders, said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA, a liberal advocacy group. "Are they there yet? No," he said.

Among those arguing for a quick strike on health care is David Plouffe, the political adviser who helped elect Obama president and has just been summoned back by the White House to help coordinate this year's elections.

"I know that the short-term politics are bad," Plouffe argued in a Washington Post op-ed. "But politically speaking, if we do not pass it, the GOP will continue attacking the plan as if we did anyway, and voters will have no ability to measure its upside." Among the immediate benefits: allowing dependent children to stay on their parents' coverage into their mid-twenties, and assistance for seniors in the Medicare prescription coverage gap.

How the new legislative strategy would work has not been fully determined. Would the House vote with only an assurance the Senate will make fixes?

One problem is that it may not be possible to resolve all the significant differences between the House and Senate bills through the special budget procedure. Only changes that affect taxes and government spending would normally be allowed to pass with a majority of 51 senators, rather than a 60-vote majority.

It's unclear that other major disputes - for example, how to restrict taxpayer funding for abortions -- could be settled similarly. On abortion, the House bill is more restrictive than the Senate version.

"Provisions that have no budgetary effect would clearly run afoul," said James R. Horney, a former Senate Democratic budget aide now with the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

That means Democrats might be able to resolve differences between the House and Senate on economic issues: taxing high-cost insurance plans, closing the coverage gap in the Medicare prescription benefit, and providing subsidies to help middle-income households pay insurance premiums. Yet they still could be left with a bill that cannot pass both the House and Senate.

Abortion opponents say they will count any House vote for the current Senate bill as favoring new government subsidies for abortion. "I suggest they do it the other way around, fix it first and then pass it," said Douglas Johnson, legislative director for National Right to Life. "Members will be held accountable for what they actually vote for. It really doesn't do to say, 'I voted for something, but I was against it.'"

Keep Planned Parenthood out of Fitchburg

Planned Parenthood has been given a $387,000 federal grant to provide Health Awareness Services in an office at 317 Main St., Fitchburg, MA.  Six members of the Fitchburg City council have "slammed" these plans according to a Fitchburg Sentenal report,
http://www.sentinelandenterprise.com/ci_14253896?source=email
specifically voting "to draft a resolution urging Planned Parenthood to abandon plans to open a Fitchburg chapter."

We agree with this resolution, and with Councilor-at-large Dean Tran, who said "there already exist many social services providing help to women and we do not need another one in Fitchburg."  Tran wants to combat the "reputation of Fitchburg as the epicenter of social services."

But more importantly, we disagree with the Planned Parenthood concept of "health awareness." When we see the Planned Parenthood signs and their hot pink Toyota Scion with the tag line "Sexual Health Matters" we want to know exactly what they mean.  We get that meaning from their Web site teenwire.com, where such topics as "Will the Gyno (gynocologist) tell your mom that you are having sex?" assure young girls not to worry, but to check first and avoid those gynocologists who might inform their parents. The "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgendered and Questioning" link claims that we are either gay or bisexual from birth, yet we may take a long time to question our sexual orientation.  In other words, try it, all ot it.

Planned Parenthood has had a generation to work to reduce sexually transmitted desease, and we do not believe their approach has worked.  We believe the promotion of promiscuity, the mocking of monogamy, and the band-aid of safe-sex has been totally ineffective. Couple this colossal ineffectiveness with the fact that the Fitchburg Planned Parenthood office will be a feeder to the Worcester Planned Parenthood abortion center and you have all the reason Fitchburg needs to keep Planned Parenthood out of town.
Please call Fitchburg City councilors and urge them to keep Planned Parenthood's promiscuity out of town:
