Linda Thayer, MCFL Vice-President of Educational Affairs has alerted us to a number of bills at the State House which are important to bringing up our children with pro-life principles and protecting them from exploitation by the pro-death lobby. These bills will be heard on May 14th. Your testimony in person is ideal. If you are not able to be there in person on the 14th, your written testimony is still very important.

Who Says Babies Are Not Born Alive From Abortions? See Video
The media, acting as mouthpieces for the pro-death forces, would like to make us think that the Gosnell facility has nothing to do with abortions because aborted babies are not born alive. |
Walk to Aid Mothers and Children Was Delightful!
As Matt said, "God was with us at the Walk." The weather was absolutely perfect and La Salette is really beautiful in the spring. We had the nicest people: Lloyd, who has 90th birthday coming up, Julia, the Walk baby whose smile sparkles, has her 2nd in a couple of days, Allison, whom I haven't seen since she was in college, was down from New Hampshire with her five adorable little ones, the first people to register who came all the way from Great Barrington, and, of course, many, many youth groups.. When I arrived at the Monument to the Unborn at the end of the Walk. the courtyard in front was chock full of strollers. Definitely our kind of Walk. The Walk Committee: Helen and David Cross, June Newman, Elinor Rafferty, Connie and Cathleen Murphy, Madeline McComish, Ken Evans, Ed Boylan, Matt and Judy Hanafin, Dana Marrocco, and Janet Callahan did a marvelous job! The people at La Salette were so gracious and accommodating! The changes in date and venue had an impact. The Walk was perfect in every way but it was one of our smaller Walks. You know what, that is ok. Much as we love to see each other, the main purpose of the Walk is to raise money for the beneficiary groups who help pregnant women, their children, and post-abortive women. This year is different because we have the on-line sponsors and donors. If you were not able to make the Walk, please go right away to www.respectlifewalk.org and click "Register." You still may donate to a walker, team, or beneficiary or simply make a donation. It is never too late to save a baby or a mother. My thanks to all of you who have already walked and/or donated. To everyone, else, please be part of this life-saving effort, www.respectlifewalk.org. Register. A mighty thanks to all! Anne |
VOTE PRO-LIFE TODAY, APRIL 30th
This is to remind you that the MCFL Federal PAC has endorsed Michael Sullivan (R) for U.S. Senator. If you are a Republican or unenrolled, you can pick up a Republican ballot and vote for Sullivan. The MCFL State PAC has endorsed Nick Collins (D) in the First Suffolk State Senate District (South Boston and Dorchester). You will need to be a Democrat or unenrolled to vote for Collins in this race. Turnout will be very small so your vote and the votes of those you get to the polls will decide these two important races. Polls are open 7:00am - 8:00pm. |

VERMONT VOTE ON DPS TOMORROW - YOUR PRAYERS VITAL
Doctor prescribed suicide has never passed in a state legislature. For years the death lobby has been working to make Vermont the first state. Our people have held them off. Judgement Day arrives tomorrow. Please say a special prayer that our people can pull off another miracle in Vermont. I think the conference committee is what we want, but, since it is so convoluted up there, simply pray that the side of life wins. That will cover any further changes. Bless you, Anne |

Big Abortion Fundraiser in MA - Help the Walk to Beat Them Tomorrow
The most gruesome thing! A doula is a person who helps a mother have a relaxed, pain-free delivery. Here is this doula blog pushing the fund-raiser for the "Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund" to help women you-know-what. Just when we think it can't get any more awful...http://radicaldoula.com/tag/eastern-massachusetts-abortion-fund/ This tells me we have to work twice as hard on our Walk to help women choose life! Please go to www.respectlifewalk.org to register to walk, support a walker or team, donate See you tomorrow, Anne |
First Suffolk Senate District Special Election Primary, April 30 - please spread the word
Urgent message from Madeline McComish, Chairman, MCFL State PAC If you live in the First Suffolk Senate District (South Boston and Dorchester), this is very important. If you don't live in the district, please forward to at least one person who does. State Rep. Nick Collins (D) has been a pro-life leader in the Massachusetts House. The MCFL State PAC has endorsed Nick because we need his leadership in the Senate. Neither of the other candidates is pro-life. It is vital that every pro-lifer in the district votes for Nick and brings at least three other people to vote for him. We need to keep this district pro-life! The Democratic Primary will decide the election. Turnout will be quite low. If all the pro-lifers and their friends vote, Nick Collins will win. The babies are counting on you! |

Are You Voting in the Democratic U S Senator Primary Next Tuesday, April 30th?
Message from John Rowe, Chair, MCFL Federal PAC: If you are a registered Democrat, it is important for you to vote next Tuesday in the Democratic Primary. Yes, Michael Sullivan is the only pro-life candidate and he is a Republican, but there are still reasons for you to vote. Many people point out that Stephen Lynch votes pro-life sometimes - most recently against sex-selection abortion. These people plan to vote for Lynch because they consider him the lesser of two evils, the one who would do the least damage. Other people say that Lynch and Ed Markey are both pro-abortion so there is no difference between them. If you honestly believe that, then you should vote for other reasons. As you know, our goal has always been to have all candidates be pro-life in every race. Then we would vote on other issues. This also applies in reverse. Please consider these points seriously. Do not forfeit your right to vote! |
Are You Voting in the Republican U.S.Senate Primary Next Tuesday, April 30th?
Message from John Rowe, Chair, MCFL Federal PAC: If you are registered as a Republican or Unenrolled ("Independent"), be sure to vote in next Tuesday's Republican Primary! MCFL PAC has endorsed Michael Sullivan. He is a genuine pro-lifer. He takes a 100% pro-life position on tax-funding, partial birth abortion, parental consent, embryonic stem cell research, and conscience rights. Sullivan's opponents, Dan Winslow (boasts of his pro-abortion position) and Gabriel Gomez ("I'm Catholic but won't change any abortion laws") support the culture of death which kills 1.2 million babies every year. It is so exciting to know we can send a pro-life Senator to Washington! The turnout will be very low. If you vote and make sure that three other people get to the polls to vote for Sullivan, you will guarantee his victory. The babies are counting on you. MICHAEL SULLIVAN - REPUBLICAN PRIMARY - NEXT TUESDAY, APRIL 30TH. |
Clara Wants YOU!

Any way, you will be helping to save precious babies. http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1063937 |

We Have Lost Three Dear Friends
In the beginning, there were the "Wilke slides" and the Handbook on Abortion, both created by Barbara Wilke, RN and her husband, Dr John Wilke. Without them there would have been no way to teach people about the horrors of abortion. The Wilkes have continued as leaders of the right to life movement all these years. Barbara died on April 14 at almost 90 years of age after 65 years of marriage, leaving six children, 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Jack Wilke, former President of the National Right to Life Committee, continues as President of Life Issues Institute, which still continues pro-life education. Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"

2013: Class Valedictorian, 1994: At the Respect Life Walk
Thayer has done it - organized pro-life activity at his school, gotten his class mates to wear the little feet, escorted his grandmother to the March for Life, attended MCFL Banquets, etc. We are very proud of his scholastic and pro-life accomplishments! He is one of many babies who have started at the Walk and kept up the pro-life commitment. We hope to have many more this year. |

Overcoming A Culture of Death
In Massachusetts this week, it is hard not to think of the Culture of Death. From the bombings at the Marathon to the Gosnell trial, we are reminded that innocent lives are being targeted. I would like to share with you this prayer that my friend, Br. Bob, sent yesterday from D.C. Let us pray for those who died and for their loved ones, for those injured – and for this country that we will abandon fear in favor of a faith that gives courage in all things. I know you have also been reading reports about the Gosnell trial in Philadelphia. Gosnell has been an out-in-front abortionist since before Roe v Wade. He was so inept that it was easier for him to deliver babies alive - some as large as six pounds - then "snip" their spinal cords to kill them. His treatment of their mothers wasn't much better. The conditions were unimaginable. I remember a four page insert in the Philadelphia Inquirer in 1981 by Liz Jeffries and Rick Edmonds, "Abortion, The Dreaded Complication," The complication was aborted babies being born alive. The thing I remember most vividly about the expose was the description of a dog licking up blood on a "clinic" floor. Apparently even that didn't cause Pennsylvania officials to exercise any oversight of this horrific and almost unimaginable situation ! When Gosnell was arrested, Massachusetts Citizens for Life sent out an email that asked how we would know that similar conditions did not exist here in Massachusetts. We still have to wonder and are faced with close-to-home examples like Laura Hope Smith who died during an abortion, a "clinic" in Attleboro has been cited by the Department of Public Health, and at least three women have been rushed to hospitals recently because of complications during abortions. I am so sad to think of the babies whom no one loved, who suffered without any consolation, and of their mothers, the women who were also abused. With everything that is going on, now more than ever we need to "do something" to show love for the babies and their mothers and to show publicly that there are people who care. We need to do something positive to help build a Culture of Life. In the face of this Culture of Death, we all can stand up and show our support for pro-life pregnancy resource centers and make sure that they have the resources to build that Culture of Life. I am grateful that our Walk to Aid Mothers and Children is scheduled for next week on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro! The Walk Committee has worked very hard. We will all benefit. I hope you will be able to join me to show your love for women and children, to give public witness, and to help provide practical assistance to mothers and children in need. Please go to http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1063937 to register as a Walker or to sponsor, or donate. For life, Anne P.S. Fwd: Doctor-Prescribed Suicide Poll in New England Journal of Medicine: Your Vote Needed
One of the doctors who led the fight against DPS here in Massachusetts has sent along this request. You'll remember that 2 of the original 10 signers to get the question on the ballot were former Editors of NEJM. As I write, we are behind 28% to 51%. Thanks, Anne The April 11th issue of NEJM is running a poll on PAS as part of an article on physician assisted suicide. Please let your voice be heard. You can respond to the poll online at this link. Look on the right for the poll. You don't have to be a subscriber to participate. The results of such polls has an impact. Please pass along this request to your contacts. |

Fwd: 4/9/13, Gosnell Trial Cont...
National Right to Life News: Gosnell entrusted a delicate operation to unlicensed, untrained, unsupervised... |
Fwd: Why Isn't the Gosnell Trial All Over the Media?
Gosnell, the doctor who delivered babies alive and then cut their spinal cords with a scissors, is on trial for the deaths of seven of those babies and an adult woman. More coverage in the foreign press than here: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/454360/20130407/philadelphia-abortion-clinic-trial-details-babies-beheaded.htm Trial began last week: http://www.nationalrighttolifenews.org/news/2013/04/gosnell-grand-jury-excerpts-karnamaya-mongar-was-referred-to-the-womens-medical-society-because-gosnell-had-a-reputation-for-performing-abortions-regardless-of-gestational-age/#.UWNv_jdX6So Things got even worse yesterday: http://www.lifenews.com/2013/04/08/gosnell-worker-baby-screamed-during-live-birth-abortion/ This is the abortion trial of the century and it is being shut out by the media. Let's each call one radio talk show or one newspaper to ask why this is not being reported. We cannot let all these babies' deaths have been in vain. Anne |
