Sex ed abortion bill: vote this week, call now!

 1a-MCFL Logo.jpg
Linda Thayer, MCFL Vice-President of Educational Affairs reports that H-448 is now Senate Bill S- 2013 – An Act Relative to Healthy Youth most likely will be voted on by the entire legislature as early as Thursday, Nov. 12th!
The bill has a new number but the same old problems (see below), especially teaching children how to get secret abortions.
This is what each of us needs to do:  we must call our own senator and representative right now urging them to vote against S - 2013.
You will find the phone number for your senator at and your representative at
If you do not know the names of your legislators, you may look them up here.
Please let your legislators know your concerns about this dangerous bill!  Anne

What does the bill propose to do?
  • This bill makes the MA Health Curriculum Frameworks normative for sexuality education throughout the Commonwealth
  • The Health Curriculum Frameworks would teach young people how to get an abortion, and contraceptives without parental knowledge
  • They give tacit approval to teenage sexual activity and abortion regardless of what parents may wish to teach their children
  • They do not respect the Freedom of Religion, by which parents would pass on their values to their children
  • Passage of this bill would make "comprehensive sex education" a one-size-fits-all for all children regardless of individual maturity and readiness
  • A public policy of "comprehensive sex education" has failed our young people over the last few decades (26% of teen girls in America have an STD, this includes 48% of black teenage girls; Massachusetts has the 11th highest teen abortion rate in the nation)
  • This bill would have the Commonwealth determine how many parents have opted their child out of sexed – without determining how many school districts have notified parents of the radical nature of the Frameworks objectives.   Therefore the number of opt-outs is likely to be small, and may be used as a justification for eliminating parents' right to opt-out.

DPS poll, vote NOW

1a-MCFL Logo.jpg

Good old New Boston Post!  They are featuring end of life issues in November and will be featuring beginning of life issues in January.  Tina McCormack has an excellent article on doctor-prescribed suicide followed by a poll.   We are doing very well in the poll.  It should give us a really good result to cite in Letters to the Editor, etc.  You'll like the article and be sure to vote.

God bless all the people who participated in 40 Days for Life!

1a-MCFL Logo.jpg
They say, "Work as if it is all up to you.  Pray as if it is all up to God"  We are blessed to have 40 Days as such an important part of the pro-life effort.
There were three babies saved in Worcester during the campaign and 517 in the entire country.  You know, that is also 517 mothers, 517 fathers, etc saved now and countless generations descended from those children.
Congratulations to all the people involved in 40 Days, particularly the coordinators:  Attleboro: Ron Larose, Boston: Rita Russo, Haverhill: Debbie Papalia, Lynn: Cori Connor-Morse, Springfield: Tim Biggins, and Worcester: Pauline Morris!
We are so proud of you and all your pray-ers!  Anne

Do you know anyone who lives in Brockton, E Bridgewater, Easton, Whitman, Hanson, Hanover, Halifax, Plympton?

1a-MCFL Logo.jpg
On Tuesday, there is a special State Senate race in those towns.  There are two State Reps running for the seat. Geoff Diehl  is a great friend of life.  The MCFL PAC has endorsed him.  They have made many hundreds of phone calls to pro-lifers in the district.  The PAC distributed more than 2,000 cards showing the difference between the candidates and urging people to vote pro-life.
The PAC has asked me to remind you about the election.  They urge you to contact at least one person you know who lives in the district and remind that person to vote for Geoff Diehl for State Senate on Tuesday, Nov 3rd!
This is important!  Thank you,
